Matt Gilroy's MVP Performance helped BU to #2

John McCarthy's Terriers are up to #3 in the Nation
With just a few games being played last week, the polls did not move around much. The Men’s team, following a win against UMass Lowell, moved up to the #3 spot in the nation. The women had a tough loss against BC at home, and moved down to #9 in the women’s poll. There was actually only one new entry into either poll’s top 10, and that was Wayne State on the women’s side. Zach Cohen has helped spark the Terriers to #7
The Boston University Mens and Womens hockey teams both remained ranked this wee, with the men rising up one spot to #7, while the women fell 2 to #6 in the nation. The men rose based on the strength of their two victories over Holy Cross (recap) and St. Lawrence (Recap). The women, on the other hand, defeated Boston College but lost to Yale, and thus fell. BU Men Fall to #8, Women Rise to #4

Colin Wilson had 3 points for the Terriers last weekend
In the latest USCHO division I Mens and Womens’ Polls, the BU Men fell to #8 in the nation, while the women rose to #4. The men fell on two losses to Vermont, while the women defeated #6 Boston College. Read more

Terriers Reach #1 Ranking

While it’s still early in the season, and many will argue that the polls currently are meaningless, it is nevertheless an impressive feat that Boston University’s Men’s Ice Hockey team has ascended to the # 1 ranking in both the USCHO poll and the USA Today Poll. Securing 29 of 50 first place votes, the Terriers hit the top spot on the strength of their victory at UMass Lowell, along with weekend losses by both Colorado College and Boston College. Read more
